International mobility
UPMC has adopted the European higher education system (Bachelor’s, Masters and PHD) and its ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) procedure which makes it compatible with the other European Universities and facilitates student mobility.
Students
All students whether from France or abroad, can choose a university programme from the whole range of offers available in Europe and have his/her credits completed abroad validated. The agreement of the UPMC lecturer responsible for the degree is necessary before departure.
After they choose an University, the students set up a list of the courses they want to follow, according as possible to that they would have validated at Paris, including 30 Ects each semester. They ask the coordinator for the validation of this choice.
Erasmus partner universities in mathematics
UPMC has specific cooperation agreements with many universities in the world based on student exchange programs with validation in the UPMC degree of the credits completed abroad.
After they choose an University, the students set up a list of the courses they want to follow, according as possible to that they would have validated at Paris, including 30 Ects each semester. They ask the coordinator for the validation of this choice.
Doctoral students
Doctoral students have the possibility to share their research work between two laboratories under the supervision of two supervisors in France and abroad. The resulting “jointly supervised thesis” leads to two degrees or to a joint doctorate degree.
For teachers and researchers
The European Union funds teaching staff mobility in the frame of the Erasmus program.
